Position Summary

Acuren-logo---170px-wideAcuren is seeking a reliable and motivated Surveyor Labourer to support our External Corrosion Prevention division in Western Canada. In this entry-level position, you will assist professional surveyors in conducting field surveys in remote locations, operating surveying equipment, and collecting data for external corrosion on pipelines. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the surveying industry while contributing to the success of our projects.

 

Position Information: 

  • Work duration: spring, summer, and fall projects
  • 17/4 rotation, including travel days
  • Day shift
  • Projects located in BC, AB, SK - candidates must be comfortable traveling up to 3 weeks at a time
  • Accommodations and LOA provided

Responsibilities

  • Assist surveyors with on-site data collection, measurements, and observations.
  • Provide support to set up survey equipment, clearing survey areas to ensure the safety of work sites and clean-up tasks at the job site.
  • Transport and handle materials, tools, and equipment for surveying tasks according to direction from the site supervisor.
  • Perform specialized tasks which may require on-the job training.
  • Help in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Follow safety standards and best practices to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (non-GDL) with clean driving record is required. With remote location navigation experience, including Argo/ATV utilization as a strong asset.
  • Previous experience in pipeline or survey fieldwork is not essential but considered an asset.
  • Must be physically fit, willing to routinely work outdoors in various terrain and weather conditions, and able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Strong work ethic, good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
  • Be available to travel for multiple days to remote locations (>80%).
