Acuren has an immediate opening for a Hoist Equipment Technician to support our clients in Newfoundland and Labrador. If you are seeking a dynamic environment with opportunities for individual growth and learning, this is for you.

This position is located in Labrador City NL, and may be offered as a fly in fly out rotation depending on applicants.

Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for performing visual and functional inspection on hoisting equipment along with some minor maintenance.   

  •  Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on overhead cranes and hoists in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Determine cause for equipment malfunction and establish the necessary repairs utilizing visual inspection, test procedures and appropriate testing equipment
  • Perform audits prior to completion of work, documenting that all required safety features are functional or documenting deficiencies
  • Complete detailed service reports in accordance with Acuren and the client’s established guidelines
  • Follow all established safety rules and procedures, including those established by the customer
  • Position requires a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who can work as a team

Requirements

  • Experience with crane maintenance and mechanical repair a must, preferably able to demonstrate 8000 hours of experience.
  • NDE experience and certifications including MT/PT/UT and CWB.
  • Related field or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience
  • Ability to understand how to interpret mechanical drawings is required
  • Needs to be able to work independently, without direct supervision while maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Effective communication, excellent problem-solving skills, and aptitude for analytical thinking
  • Ability to work nightshift through Friday – Sunday
